Are 9-11 and Iraq Causing Depression Among Americans?

... or other mental illnesses?

I have felt that depression and teen suicide are at an epidemic level in the USA for some time. Of course I haunt the mental health category of Yahoo! answers and am directly connected to the VA so am exposed to a lot of side effects of war. I would like to see some statistics on whether depression and teen suicide are on the rise.

Whether this is all due to 9/11 and the wars is a moot point. I am an old man, raised in the "swing era" when songs were all about love, and the popular music of the nation now is depressing to me. How much does protest music and rap effect mental health? That music has been around for a long time.
