Question:

How do you help someone with a drug problem who wants help but also will also run back to te drugs asap?

Asked by my mom who wants to help a friend of my brother. The boy has admittedto his problem, admitted that he needs help, but is also a well known serial liar. I feel he is just making everybody happy for now admitting all these things but will run to the closest exit as soon as he finds it. In other words he is jus buying time.

Answers:

Unfortunately Sir, you cannot force help on anyone, and this is a classic case.People who have "negative" character traits are the ones most prone to be drug abusers. also more often than not, people with bipolar tendencies are very likely to abuse drugs and or alcohol. Once again you cannot help them, unless they truly want help. The best thing you can do for this person is turn your back on him until he learns his lesson, which may be never. A pathological liar can and will be even more convincing when they are on street drugs, such as ice, crack, or methamphetamines, (we can thank Timothy O'Leary for that one), and they will kill, rob, or steal from their own grandmother to satisfy their habit. If you value your life, never trust someone on drugs. What people fail to understand these days is that the street drugs available today make living zombies out of normal people. Did you know that there are actually ignorant people that smoke marijuana dipped in formaldehyde. In the South it is referred to as waterwater, and the reprobates that use it look like walking dead people, needless to say, most people that use it don't last very long. Education is the only way to prevent people from abusing drugs, and that doesn't always work either, but I am aware of one thing, if Americans don't start doing something to eliminate all the street drugs in our country our children will suffer far worse than our generation has. Pray that he will learn his lesson, pray with a sincere heart and purpose, then hide and watch, but don't interfere.God will deal with him in his time.
