Answers:

She could perhaps have generalized anxiety disorder including social anxiety disorder, but realistically I think that your bet of her being on the autistic spectrum is correct. For one, autism and asperger's are about 90% genetic. Other than that, the clumsiness is another indicator. With what you've said though I can't say she's got Asperger's... there's a pretty good chance that she "only" has PDD-NOS. Not that it really matters... my brother was diagnosed with PDD-NOS (he's 20yo now) and I seem to meet the criteria for Asperger's, but I'm higher functioning than he is.

3yo is definitely old enough to identify someone as having a PDD/ASD. Diagnosis of Aspies used to occur at an older age because of lack of knowledge, not because it's impossible to diagnose at a younger age. Anyway, as someone else already said... does she show any perseverations/fixations (i.e. things/topics she has an unusually strong interest in)? Does she have any sensory problems (lots of Aspies are oversensitive to certain stimuli... for some reason it's not included in the DSM-IV diagnostic criteria but it's so common that they might include it in the next version). How's her language development (Aspies have more or less normal language development, but might have some oddities nonetheless)? Any OCD-like behaviors?

I don't recommend forcing the socialization on her... give her opportunities to socialize but don't push her too hard or she'll get to dislike it even more. Also, most adolescent/adult Aspies don't see it as a disorder...
