Anxiety and pregnancy- what is the SAFEST way to treat?!

Question:

Anxiety and pregnancy- what is the SAFEST way to treat?

I know all the techniques- meditation, breathing, music, visual... I've had a lot going on lately and have had a history of anxiety, but have been able to handle my own all these years until now. Therapy is a joke- there is nothing I haven't heard or or even said myself to help others in these scenarios.

To put it bluntly- the techniques don't work when I get panicky and the only medications that haven't ever given me a nasty reaction (such as leave me depressed, non functional, or extremely moody) is xanax and valium. However, I don't want to touch these drugs with a 10 foot pole for fear of dependency and I have battled PCOS and have recently seen results with Metformin treatments- meaning I could get pregnant anytime, and of course I want to be careful of that.

Though sometimes lately my anxiety gets so bad I worry that with my history of miscarriages the anxiety could further the possibility of more miscarriages. Anyone have ideas that are completely safe, such as chamomile?

Answers:

I drink chamomile often and i find that is helps. If you want to try it- do not get it at the grovery store- it probably old and not as potent as it should be. I would go to a natural food store or anywhere in you rarea which sells alternative healing products.
I also have had luck with melatonin. It is in your vitamin section and it is used to put people to sleep. However i have taken them during the day to help me wheni am very stressed.
These are somethings that have helped me, but it will take alot of trial and error to find what will help you! Good luck with getting pregnant and feeling less stressed.!!!
