Does it ever bug you...?!

Question:

Does it ever bug you...?

that when you say you suffer from depression or have problems people automatically say " go to counsellin" like that makes it all better? I do see a counsellor and don't get me wrong she is great but i only see her 1 hour a week, its the other 167 hours in the week that i find harder to cope with and feel in most despare...anyone else feel the same?

I know counselling isn't a quick fix you have to want to get better, etc etc but it doesn't make the hard times when you want to give up and die any easier! I think counselling is great but its 1 hour or in my case 50 mins in a whole week of agony!

I see my doctor and am going to see a psychiatrist so i am trying my best to get the help but theres so many hours you have to push through alone and these are the worst for most depressed people!

does anyone agree?

Answers:

Sorry things are too good at the moment...
I completely agree with what you are saying...
I only see my counsellor once a month and ok like you said it isnt supposed to be a quick fix but tell me how you are supposed to build a relationship with someone you see once a month?...Its not until about 45 minutes into the session that i begin to feel a bit comfortable n then its like time to go...
I understand they have other people to see but not last month the month before i took 7 overdoses in about 3 weeks...like ok so i have this counsellor but he wasnt there when i needed him then...I didnt end up telling him because by the time i finally started talking other things come up and there wasnt enough time to discuss it!...
I hope things start to look up for you...
Take care and stay strong!...
Feel free to email me if you want to chat...
Xox...
