Question:

My emotions can go from great hope to great despair to great anger in seconds when I'm on my own thinking.

There seems to be nothing solid beneath these changing emotions, like a real personality. Is this borderline personality disorder? I am not an adolescent either, I am in my 30's. How can I cope with this?

My thoughts shift and change too so that i may think the opposite thing of what i was thinking minutes ago. Like i've no solid opinion on things

Answers:

It is sometimes very difficult to distinguish Borderline Personality Disorder from Bipolar Depression, since they both have mood swings, suicidal ideation, etc etc.

One of the differences is that the mood swings are more extreme with Bipolars.

To complicate things further, some people have both Borderline and Bipolar.

Best to see a very reputable psychiatrist for a diagnosis. Then get a second opinion.
