Has anyone heard of an adjustment disorder?!
Question:
Has anyone heard of an adjustment disorder?
Answers:
Adjustment disorders are very commonly diagnosed. Adjustment disorders are basically a moderate amount of depression or anxiety as a result of a recent stressor, such as a relationship falling out, or something like that. The depression or anxiety has to exceed what would be expected to be a normal reaction to the stressor, but not severe enough to warrant a diagnosis of PTSD or Acute Stress Disorder. The diagnosis is meant as a way to treat non-severe depression and/or anxiety.
