Question:

I think I have insomnia, but when I talk to my parents about it, they don't beleive me...what should I do?

I've even gone into they're room at 3 am lots of times but they still think I don't have it.

Answers:

best thing to do is research insomnia, print your findings and present it to them at 3 AM in the morning, lol... j/k, better to do it at a reasonable time so that they don't get mad at ya for waking them up...

I would keep a record of all the sleepless nights. Also record what you eat, drink, think about, watch on tv, and physical activity during the day. Keep a journal about what you believe is triggering or could be triggering your insomnia. Once you figure out the trigger, take steps to undo it or to get rid of the trigger.

Be sure to eat healthy, stay away from caffeine and too much sugar, and try to get at least 20 minutes of steady excercise a day. Don't watch TV at least an hour before your bedtime, and keep a journal of your thoughts. That way, you can get them out of your head before you lay down to sleep so you aren't kept up with them. Take a hot bath or shower before bedtime to relax your muscles and ease your breathing. Try meditation too, it will seriously help.
