Nothing seems to help my depression. Any suggestions?!

Question:

Nothing seems to help my depression. Any suggestions?

About a year ago I started dreaming about putting a gun in my mouth and pulling the trigger. I wondered if it would hurt. The dreams got worse each time until I actually did it in my dream and it made me jump up and wake up. I had gone to my Dr. before the dreams got bad and was put on medication. I went again and admitted that I was dreaming about it. They put me in a mental ward for a week and changed my meds and sent me to therapy. I've since then changed Dr.s, stopped taking the meds because I still felt lousy and things just aren't getting better. My cousin killed himself almost 20 years ago with a gun and I also have a great uncle that killed himself with a gun. I don't really want to put my family through it but I really don't want to keep feeling like this. I've been on Zoloft, Effexor, and a couple of others. Is there anything that just makes you feel numb that a Dr. would actually prescribe? Any suggestions would be helpfull. I've been depressed since I was 11.

I do see a psychiatrist and I was on 3 different meds at once. Talking to a therapist or family just seems like a waste. Talking doesn't change anything.

Answers:

Well, I can tell you that not one person has ever been cured of depression with any medication of any sort. Take it from someone who's been there. There's only one way of digging yourself out of that rut. Read my story and see if you agree:

I've been depression and drug free for just over two years now. What I did works and can work for anyone willing to do what it takes. I'm not saying it's easy, but it's well worth it. Imagine being able to have fun and to love life again. It is possible, or I wouldn't be here to tell you about it. I was so fed up with the doctors and their drugs and therapies, that I starting drinking and tried killing myself. Fortunately, a friend helped me find my way out. I want to pass that along, if you'll let me.
