Question:

Please Help Me! I Want to Acheive My Dreams [Thanks for Reading if you do] I really need the help.?

Im17years old and I am probably the most pessimistic person when it comes to myself..I am going into my sr year of hs and i am nervous about college.thru my whole 3 years in hs i have gotten BAD grades [mostly c's / sometimes lower so i was thinking to myself .why did i allow myself to do this. i felt so low for those past3 yrs. My dream is to go to Boston University. Now you may be thinking.. "Yeah right, you have no chance". But i just dont want to sit and let my dream slide. I was thinking that if i got extremely high marks in the begining of my sr.yr that it would help me! i do not want to attend a community college because i NEED a change ofscenery,my home life is what has been bringing me down, thus resulting in academic downfall.when i visited bu i felt so much at peace and i know that this is where i was to start my life.i am very smart, and i don't believe my mistakes should define my new start! i really want to go there.plz give me hope that i may have the SLIGHTEST CHance

Answers:

Well I don't live in the US so I don't know exacly what Boston's admission requirements are like but I'd say you have a chance. maybe not your choice school and maybe so.. like I say I don't know. But I think if you really just launch yourself into work for the rest of the year and pull your grades up drastically, i think they'd look on that kind of turn-around very favourably.

But you know what? You're aiming very high by the sounds of things and if you dont' get into this particular school, don't then not try for others. If you don't get in, you can always transfer or do your graduate studies there if you prove yourself.

Think of it this way, if you really do well, you'll be better off than you are now even if you don't get into Boston. And you might. You sound determined.
