Question:
Poll: how many of you with mental health problems (particularly schizophrenia) had problem births? It is said?
that schizophrenia especially has a connection with problems in the womb and at birth. I have schizophrenia and I was strangled with the cord twice round my neck and had to be given artificial respiration. I had problems before this when I could not cling to the side of the womb, as the unborn child does, due to my mother bleeding
Answers:
My brother was schizophrenic.. to the best of my knowledge he didn't suffer any womb trauma. He just developed it in his mid twenties and it got progresively worse. I do have my own theories why... but I'm not qualified to speculate on that. I think schizophrenia is something that could well do without any speculation.
He died. The schizophrenia didn't kill him as such, but some of the choices he made because he was schizophrenic, did.
Funnily enough, he died today...a few years ago. I think of him everyday.
