What would be better for Anxiety?!

Question:

What would be better for Anxiety?

Me and My Husband are gonna get on something for Anxiety. We both have tried Zoloft which made us sleep for like 3 days and REALLY depressed feeling. He has tried alot of different kinds of Anti-Depression pills like Buspar,Lexapro. He wants to be on something that is not for Depression since well he's NOT Depressed. His Mom takes XanaX and says it works good and his sister took Valium and she said it worked for her. Oh and my Mom saw Paxil on TV and she said it sounded good. So what do you think would be better out of the three? Like I said we both do NOT want to be on any kind of Anti-Depression pill. We looked all 3 up and those are just for Anxiety. I just wanna know what others have thought about it if you've tried it.

*My husbands problem is that his mind races 24/7 and he freaks over the littlest thing.

*My problem is I'm very paranoid to go in a store alone or anything and I get stressed out easy. Im about to have 2 kids and we need to get this under control.

Answers:

It sounds like you and your husband experienced some serious adverse events from Zoloft, Buspar and Lexapro. The sad fact is that these types of drugs cause permanent brain damage, so I would never recommend them to you or anyone else.

Don't believe the hype about Paxil or any drug you see on television. Big Pharma spends hundreds of millions of dollars in research and development and tries every tactic possible to convince you that you need these medications.

It is dangerous to take these drugs because when you elevate levels of serotonin and other neurotransmitters in the trilions of synapse in your brain, you get the so-called "side effects". These are actually main effects of these drugs. I recommend getting a book like Prozac Backlash by Joseph Glenmullen or anything by Dr. Peter Breggin. They have spent a lot of time researching these drugs and talking about how dangerous they are.

On a side note, it sounds like your husband might be experiencing a manic side effect from one of the drugs you mentioned he took. These side effects, in many cases, can last years like Post SSRI Sexual Dysfunction which is permanent loss of labido and erectile functioning after discontinuation of SSRI class drugs.

The damage has already been done to your brains by these drugs, so why do you want to try more of these drugs? You will only worsen your condition. This is a guarantee. I would try as many alternative therapiest as possible. If you are eating a lot of junk food, you need to overhaul your diet immediately. Your brain needs to heal from the damage the drugs you have taken and the stress that you were experiencing. This could take years, but you can recover in time, perhaps not 100%, but very close to it.
