I've been given citalopram 10mg..?!

Question:

I've been given citalopram 10mg..?

i was given this drug yesterday for anxiety and panics. 6 years ago i was on serxoat for 9 months for the same thing. Serxoat was good however i was sweating alot and i put on 4 stone within that period of time! So im very wary of pills i take now.

My docter says there is nothing to worry about with it, he gives it to 80-90 year women to help them. Im not depressed just anxious and it makes me feel like **** all the time. I try kalms for a while (they were really good) but i hardly got any sleep with them. I'm really scared to take these pills, (just my anxiety playing on me) can anyone tell me there experince with this drug?? only the 10mg though.

Hi there matey, Am sorry to hear that you are so anxious at the mo, Citalopram is nothing to worry about. I myself have been on these tabs, I was on 60mg daily and at first was real wary like yourself to take them. I hated the way that I was feeling, it effected my whole life. I started taking the pills and within 2 wks I started to feel the difference. I was up and down whilst I was waiting for the pills to kick in, but eventually they started working. I also tried Kalms and I had the same prob of no sleep. Please trust me that you will feel much better if you have a little help with Citalopram, your Dr obviously thinks that these will do the trick. We all need a little help with stuff sometimes, it's so easy to stress out these days. I really wish you luck my friend, let me know how you get on. Keep Smiling With Regards Sarah-Jane.
