Stress - how does it affect you?!

Question:

Stress - how does it affect you?

I have been suffering from heightened levels of stress in my life lately and they have affected my life in ways that I would never have imagined. I am just wondering if people could share there stress related experiences with me. I feel as I have lost my sense of humour, even interest in sex to be honest.

I have developed a temper and little things ignite my fuse (which has shortened) and I can be a petulant kid to a very very angry man who says things that I dont mean.

Any advice is useful - or stress-busting remedies. Anything?

Answers:

It has made me feel like I can't go on sometimes and not motivated to do anything. Tiredness is a big thing and lack of interest in anything.

I'm okay most of the time but pressure of work and the fact that I'm working and my husband is not is another situation that stresses me, particularly as he seems to laze around all day and does very little. Yes, I get angry, yes I cry, yes sometimes I get very annoyed - sometimes too I feel like a big lump of lard and I do eat a lot more when I'm stressed, which is not helpful.

Try Bach Flower Rescue Remedy, available from Boots Chemists, supermarkets like Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's but also from most health shops. This really does work. I am a Bach Flower Therapist and even though I have all 38 remedies in the Bach Flower range at my finger tips, I either forget to make them up for myself because I'm too busy helping someone else or I don't take them regularly enough, but fortunately I have my back up of Rescue Remedy, and it does work very well in calming you down and is safe to take.

Exercise is brilliant for reducing stress. If I'm that bad, I go for a brisk long evening walk. Having a dog helps, because we can walk miles and miles and I tell him all my problems. When we get back home I feel refreshed and brighter. You see, even complementary therapist like me get stressed and miserable at times.
Meditation also helps. Shut yourself away in a quiet room with a candle and just focus your attention on the candle - forget everything else, and when other things creep into your mind, let them pass out of the top of your head and focus all your attention on the candle again. Trust me - it does work and you feel calm and relaxed after even just 10 minutes. Try it. xx
