My 18 yr old son is depressed, refusses help, quit school 4 weeks till graduatio!
Question:
My 18 yr old son is depressed, refusses help, quit school 4 weeks till graduation, won't work, stays in bedrm.
He has an excuse for everything. Can't work because he has no transportation, because he could not pay for insurance, cannot walk to work because he would be sweaty... hates not being able to do anything because he has no money... I have tried everything Icould think of. He was classified & all the educators told me "what a good parent I was". Then why do I feel like such a failure? Why can I not get my son to understand that he is making his life harder than it needs to be? I know I have done far too much for him in the past & I am probbly to blame for alot of his dependancy, but I cannot understand why I cannot help him turn arround, & become a productive adult.

get him to see a psychiatrist and be a little firm and tell him he either works or must leave the house i know it sounds tough but you gotta make a stand when they hear they need to leave the house they get real frightened...and tend to listen but get the pschiatric care he needs..itll help him
