Deppression pills... do they really work?

i was thinking about buying some but then I thought to myself, how could a pill fix your emotions??? I've just experienced alot with my family seperating and now live with my grandparents and experience depression regularly. Do they really work and do ou have to be 18?

I am totally opposing the idea to fix depression with pills. There is research out there suggesting that rigorous exercise, such as aerobics etc. on a daily basis can bring bi-polar depression into remission, not to talk about the fact that it makes pills obsolete for other forms of depression. I believe that antidepressants are designed to make one dependent on them. In fact, I believe that all of the medication out there is basically designed to make one dependent, just watch all the commercials during the news"...ask your doctor about Lipitor..." or other medication. No one really informs you of side effects. Most anti depressants inhibit your metabolismm, meaning you will gain weight. Just like any other medication do anti depressants have serious side effects.
