What to do when you have a child that is ADHD and you don't want the child to t!

Question:

What to do when you have a child that is ADHD and you don't want the child to take medication?

My child is ADHD and I cannot bring myself to putting the child on medication b'cus of the fact that they will not have an appetite to eat, will be zoned out like a zoombie, and will have feelings of depression. Please help if you have any advice on this situation. Thank you!

Answers:

If your child acts as you have described, that child is being over medicated. Most children on meds for ADHD does not act like you have described, unless they are being over medicated. Secondly, I know of several children that are now adults and teens, and they wished their parents would have put them on meds, so they could focus, sleep, think, and act like the other kids around them. My advice is that you ALLOW your Child to have the opportunity to have as normal of a childhood that is possible. I have known of people that have taken their children off the meds durning the summer. Then on meds during school, and that seems to work pretty good for them. Also I have heard that if you carefully monitor what they eat along with the medication it works quite well.
