Are Schizophrenic people really "Crazy" or do they have a sixth sense?!

Question:

Are Schizophrenic people really "Crazy" or do they have a sixth sense?

Have you ever wondered why schizophrenic people yell and scream at the air? Ever wonder why they are able to see things that we claim are not there? Ever wonder why they do things that the "Voices" tell them to do?
Are they really crazy or are their senses keenly sensitive to the unknown forces of the evil spirit world?

Answers:

I am a paranoid schizophrenic diagnosed as such over 40 years ago. I have lived a pretty normal life due to TLC and medications. I do not consider myself "crazy" nor do I consider those others whom I have known with the disease as "crazy". I have had "visions" and heard "voices". They were very real to me and definitely not of my own volition. I do not rule out a supernatural as that is the only way I can explain what happened to me (suddenly and violently). I do not consider them evil experiences although at one point, in response to a desperate prayer to God I got an answer in the form of a chorus of male voices saying loudly, "Kill yourself". I merely shouted back mentally (because the voices were in my head, mental), NO!

I could have yelled and screamed out loud but I didn't. The delusions one has, in response to the unwelcome voices and apparitions, is a desperate attempt to try to explain them to one self and others. They may be untrue or weird but they are what seems real at the time. Remember schizophrenia is a disease that strikes predominatly young people they usually don't have a whole lot of experience at life.

I don't think you have really investigated the disorder; you seen to be expressing the common stereotypes of some of the disorders. Schizophrenia is not a single disease but a whole spectrum of disorders. Type "schizophrenia" into Yahoo! web search and a whole lot of links comes up. Wikipedia has a good short summary.

One particullarly bad sterotype is that the disorder leads to violence which is not true. Schizophrenics I think you will find are no more violent than the so called "normal" people. Whether those that hallucinate are "keenly sensitive" to the "unknown forces of the evil spirit world" I can not say. I really don't believe there is an evil spirit world. They are subject to "Unknown Forces" as no one knows what causes the disorder.

Good luck in your understanding, good health, peace and Love!
