Why does life suck like this?

Me and my friend, we both Self harm, i have for quite a few months, her for quite a few weeks. She told me, and i told one person because she didnt want me to tell anyone. She told someone about me too.

But now she's turned on me and says that if i was really her friend that i would have told people till they listened.
I was trying to be a good friend though by respecting her wishes, i didnt know what i was suposed to do, as i've never had anyone trust me with something big before. I was just trying to be nice!
And shes calling me an attention seeker and it really hurts, because attention is the last thing i want.

I dont know what to do, she was like my only friend and now i have no one! I already self harm and regularly think about suicide as an option, I'm so scared that this will push me over the edge and i'm going to wind up dead!

You would kill yourself because a friend is mad at you? Then what? She'll forgive you and you can come back and everything will be nice? Wait, no. Once you kill yourself, thats it. There is no chance of anything getter better then. EVER. If you wait and live out your life, you will see that things have a way of working themselves out.
I always thought people who self harmed were attention seekers. That may not always be the case, but obviously it was in her case. She needed drama in her life to feel important. You didn't do that for her. Now she is seeking someone else to do it for her. You should not feel it is your fault that she desires unneeded attention.

If you ever decide to let someone know about a friend who self mutilates, you should not only tell someone, but make sure you tell the right people.
You should also seek better ways to cope with anger or stress than to self mutilate. I used to break things when I got angry. After spending so much money buying things that I already bought once, I found better ways to cope. There are different strokes for different folks, but you can find something better to do.
