Is being miserable?!

Question:

Is being miserable?

A sign of drug use. My mother allowed me to live with her while my daughter recuperated from an accident and now like clockwork, the cast is off, my mother has started right back in her old ways of being evil. Why do people only want to be there when your sad and why can't my happiness rub off on people. Also, have anyone ever dealt with a woman that drinks 4 tall cans of beer that 9 percent alcohol? What is there behavior like and how do you deal with it, esp when they are being mean and abusive?

Answers:

Sad to say that some people are just plain abusive in their relationships. My mother is the same way, but fortunately she lives clear across the country now. however she is still just as mean and abusive over the phone the beauty of it is now I can just say goodbye and hang up and not take it any more.
Some people are just set in their ways and there is nothing you can do about it, what you need to do is learn to accept that you can't change her and than you need to decide if you can accept her behavior or move on. I know it sounds cold and it isn't easy . I went through a few years a therapy to learn that my mother will never change and as much as I would like her to change , it's just not gonna happen. Than I needed to decide that I needed to limit my contact with her because her behavior was so severely affecting me. It's extremely difficult. It's human nature to want to be loved and accepted by people but most especially by those who are supposed to love and care for us (our parents). It's especially difficult when you see the "perfect" moms/ families on TV etc. But sometimes a little separation from the abusive person is the best thing you can do for yourself and for your daughter.
I wish you the best of luck.
