if you miss your pills 1 morning do you than loose it later that day. when my husband yells at me he uses that as his reason.

It's as good a reason as any. Effexor comes in two forms, one regular and one long lasting. If you miss a dose its effectiveness will wane and irritability will set in. But your husband is also not using any skills to avoid losing his temper, and those techniques don't fade. He should be seeing a therapist to learn how to manage his display of anger and irritability, and then practice them instead of just giving in to his impulses.
