Question:
I am on an anti depressant called Cymbalta, has anyone who has taken this medicine, have problems with memory?
I am 29 years old and use to have a very sharp memory, until I was put on Cymbalta for my major depression issues... Is this common and what can I do to enhance memory skills? Also, Has anyone experienced becoming more sleepy when the dosage is raised? I am very concerned about memory loss, I am too young to have to repeat questions that I have already asked, or remember how to spell simple words... please help, what can I do?

Also, are there any alternative anti-depressants that will not affect my memory... thanks for the great answers so far... I will definitely speak with my Doc on the 20th when I see her.
Answers:
That is a very common problem among people on anti-depressants. Make sure you tell your md about it. You can also try Gingko Biloba over the counter to naturally enhance your memory. Some things you can do in the mean time is write stuff down or if you have a cell phone, save a note or a verbal recording (if your phone has those capabilities). But make sure you discuss it with your md, and so you dont forget, write it on the rx bottle itself!
