Why and what--maybe servers could answer?!

Question:

Why and what--maybe servers could answer?

I work at a resturant, which i liked a lot at first, but today i found out a lot of the servers talk a lot of **** about me when i am not there. I had previously been under the impression I might have been well liked...the only reason i can conclude is that i am bipolar, so sometimes my frustration with everything gets contagious, and when i get frustrated i get mad and try to leave as soon as possible. And now, my medication makes me very lethargic towards all work in general. I don't want to blame anything on my mental disorder, but it's legit...but i hate excuses, but it's soo hard for me to do work sometimes!

all the above, and a gruesome work schedule, makes me not want to go to work at all, but i make a ton of money so i can't quit. Does anyone have any consoling words for me or advice, please?

Answers:

First, I've served in restaurants before. It's amazing how quickly one person can make a night go from smooth to terrible. You're obviously affecting the performance of the other servers and the swinging attitude is bothering them. My suggestion is to somehow fight through the lethargy and keep calm in stressful situations. Always smile and be excited. Try to BE the person you'd love to work with.

But I have no experience in disorders, so I have no idea what you're dealing with. I'm even keel as they come, so I can't help you much more than telling you to mentally toughen up. Who cares what the other people say? You're there to make money, not make friends.
