Has anybody ever been raped and have some advice?!

Question:

Has anybody ever been raped and have some advice?

Answers:

Yes, it happened to me two years ago, when I was 15.

If it happened really recently, make sure that you don't take a shower or change clothes, no matter how much you may want to. Then you need to go to the ER. Tell the doctor or nurse that treats you that you were raped, and ask them to take whatever evidence they can find. You have to report it to the police, and put the f*cker that did this to you in prison.

If it wasn't recent, but you're dealing with the emotional trauma that comes from it, just know that there's hope. You don't have to go through it alone, tell someone. I know if you're at all like me, you might feel ashamed to tell someone, but what happened to you was not your fault. This gets so much easier to deal with when you're not alone. It took me two months, but I finally told my best friend what happened, and I just felt this huge weight being lifted off me. I don't know if you actually want to do this, but if you feel like you want to, professional help is definitely a good idea. You can get counseling to help you deal with what happened. Try maybe writing poetry or songs or painting or things that help you release your feelings on days when you're feeling at your worst. If you want you can call RAINN (Rape, Abuse, Incest National Network) at 1-800-656-HOPE. I called there after it happened to me, and it helped to be able to tell someone, even if I didn't know them personally. Above all, just remember, this was not your fault, no matter what some people may say. Good luck to you, and I hope that you find healing.
