Anxiety or ocd?!

Question:

Anxiety or ocd?

whenever I get really good news I react nervously, and think something will go wrong. For instance, I just met this great girl and things are going well. But when I try and think positive thoughts about the potential of the relationship, my mind fills with this nagging repetitive question: "what if some day she cheats on me". Its interfering with what should be a really happy time.

Answers:

Sounds similar to what I used to experience. Every time, and I mean every single time my husband left for work, I just knew he would get into a car accident, or something bad would happen and he would get killed. It sounds silly now, but at the time it was so awful. I'm taking Prozac now which is good for depression and ocd and other anxiety things. I tried to stop taking it for a few days once and the old fears came right back, so I'm staying on it forever I guess. But I sure feel better now and I hope you find some relief too, good luck.
