Is it possible to permanently lose something in long-term memory?!

Question:

Is it possible to permanently lose something in long-term memory?

As long as you don't get hit on the head or something like that.

Simply not thinking of it or recalling it is not permanent, and doesn't count.

Answers:

If it was a dramatic experience then its possible and happens too many people with such memories because they block it and forget it. Other than that, its possible our brains kind of sort our memories to what is important and what is not. If it is not important you'll forget and most likely not know anything about it unless something triggers the memory.
