I think about suicide alot, but does that mean i need help?!

Question:

I think about suicide alot, but does that mean i need help?

I've never attempted anything, and don't think i ever could actually kill myself, or do that to my family. But...i always think in my head, how am i going to go on? i feel hopeless alot, and sometimes i just have to cry, sometimes i feel comepletely miserable and feel like life just isn't for me, and i shouldn't live anymore. This isn't all the time, and i know how i should appreciate life and the things i have, i am grateful, i should want to live as long as possible, but sometimes i just think "how can i do this?" i feel like its the end, nothing will get better

I am sorry to read that your thoughts often seem to be running in this direction, and it would be really good if you could pluck up courage to talk to someone, or at least look up some useful websites - I have listed two below. If you could not share openly with your doctor, you could maybe find a local counselling service (if you are university or college, they may have their own - mine at uni was very helpful indeed) or try talking to the Samaritans (UK) or Befrienders, I think, in USA.

There is a saying, "A problem shared is a problem halved", and am sure that would be true for you. You have taken a good first step by sharing your thoughts with the Internet, and I hope you get some helpful replies. I am sure most people would say you do need face-to-face help as soon as possible, as you may be suffering from depression, or at least be going through a very rough patch in your life. I hope and pray you will "turn the corner" soon, though it might take time and patience with yourself as you climb out of this dark pit. You can do it, though!
