Is jealous bad for a relationship?!

Question:

Is jealous bad for a relationship?

Answers:

A little jealousy isn't a bad thing. When it starts affecting the relationship, and jealousy becomes controlling, then its a problem.

For example: Hugging your signifigant other when you notice someone else checking them out or flirting with them to mark your territory, then going on your way agian- normal.

Telling your signifigant other that you have to leave the party RIGHT NOW because someone else flirted with them, telling them not to hang out with a certian friend, or to go to certian places, not letting them go out alone because you're afraid they'll cheat, demanding they be home by a certian time or getting into a fight over something innocent. - Not normal.

Jealousy is the opposite of trust. Do you trust your partner not to cheat on you, or not to leave you? Then you have no reason to be overly jealous or posessive. If you are, that should be a red flag in a relationship, signaling that something is very wrong. Strong jealousy can be a sign of serious psychological problems, including dependency disorders. Be careful, and if your partner ever starts telling you who you can hang out with and where you can go, or in any way tries to control what you do, get out while you can!
