What have your experiences been like? I have been to a few meetings myself but Im having a hard time connecting to the people so I can get a sponsor.

I'm 29 and I go to NA/AA meetings. I understand what you are saying about not exactly connecting with people.
The thing is, someone doesn't have to be the same age for you to connect with them. They could be from a different walk of life than yourself. You just have to allow yourself to be open and try to identify with people when they are speaking.
You will find that you have much more of a connection with people when you allow yourself to. If you are having trouble finding a sponsor you might want to say that next time you are sharing.
Even explain that you are having trouble connecting with anyone. If you ask for help, people will be there to help you.
