Benzo wedding help?!

Question:

Benzo wedding help?

i am bipolar ii, depressed and agoraphobic. first two are being controlled by lamictal and wellbutrin, respectively. i have to be a best man in a wedding in one month. will see psychiatrist right before i go. he says he'll give me benzos then if i still need them. question is i cannot be drowsy, which benzo do i take and how can i be certain it will work? i can probably acquire some to test, are they safe with the drugs i already take?

i guess you didn't understand, wander. i don't have time for the doctor. i need to find out if they will work before then. also, since i will only need them that week, he will probably give me what i want as long as its not dangerous. i understand you are not a doctor, i promise not to sue you if i die taking your advice. stop being such a sissy naysayer.

Answers:

Hi, I know how you feel. A few years ago I was a maid of honor in my best friend's wedding. Well I was sick over it and couldn't tell her no. I had been doctoring for a few years trying to get some stuff straightened out and he prescribed me ativan(lorazepam).5mg to get through it all. This medication was prescribed with my regular meds(zoloft and topamax). I used the pills for the rehearsal and didn't end up needing them for the wedding. Don't take anything without your doctor helping you with the dose and combination, but I am sure you don't need me to tell you that. A small dose shouldn't make you tired, but we are all different. It doesn't make me tired, but if I lay down to go to sleep after taking one I am usually out like a light.

Two side notes: 1) don't drink on the medication! Whew they aren't lying when they say alcohol with intensify the effect.
2)Just remember people will not be looking at you they will be looking more at the bride and groom...it is their day. You will have a blast if you relax, I did and I am so glad that I was in the wedding after all.
