Answers:

I am speaking from experience. I own almost 5000 books, magazines, comics, informational tracts, etc. I started reading heavily in the second grade due to a serious injury. It put me into a bodycast for almost 6 full months. I picked up an interesting looking paperback with a blonde man on a raft with a very large cat with a backround of ruined buildings. "Daybreak 2250 A.D." led me into a life time love of learning, reading, exploring my boundaries of imagination, belief, and personal ethics. I discovered global warming in 1968, discussed the Morman principles with their witnesses at age 17, knew more about space, dinosaurs, and politics than anybody in my grade at school for years. I was beating 'Jeopardy' (at home) at 12 and 13. I was considered the quintessential geek all through grades 3 through 12, but was still the one people came to for odd bits of knowledge for reports and proof of disagreements. I am now 56 years of age and still read as much as I possibly can and recently gave my wife trivia information that has helped her earn several "Best Answers" in this forum. Just remember to balance your reading with exercise and socializing with your peers (emotional as well as age wise). It is quite possible that your reading will help you get into college, a better or more interesting job, or as mine did, a very lovely spouse (whom several of the 'jocks I went to school with for 12 years couldn't understand how she settled for me). Good luck and remember...Balance is the key. Study Oriental Philosophy, it can be very engrossing.
