Have you stopped your anti depressants because they arent working?

Have you gone off your anti depressants because they arenyt working, my pschicatirst says this is a bad idea, just wondering if anyone else has and had any effects?

I was on effexor and it didn't work, so I went off of it and it was hell for months. I had to ween off of it and it was still terrible, no matter how slow I took it. It was like having a major hangover every day! But different people with different meds get different results. Doctors are in with the drug companies...they WANT you to stay on them...but most often people are better to ween off the drugs if they really feel like there is no point in taking.
