I need a physiologist please? Or someone who knows about depression and emotiona!

Question:

I need a physiologist please? Or someone who knows about depression and emotional problems?

I need a physiologist please? Or someone who knows about depression and emotional problems?

Or at least someone similar, someone who knows about depressions and emotional problems and that could give out some suggestions and what do to with psychological problems once in a while.

I want to start a group where people can come and talk with other about their emotional problems but I need someone who could be the group’s “doctor.” He or she would be sort of like my helper. When people would come to me with a problem or a question to which I cannot answer the group’s “doctor” would help me help that person in need.

Or we will have open boards where we will discuss different subjects and the group’s doctor will help provide information on the topic being discussed.

I personally have to deal with teenage depression. Everyday I feel sad and alone. I’m not always this way. Some days I find my self aright and I am able to interact with other’s perfectly but then there are other days when I am utterly depressed and I find myself in need to talk to someone about how I feel.

This is the main purpose of my myspace group. It would be a place where others would be able to come and have someone there for them to listen to them and to try to help them. But for this I am aware of that I need someone who knows about depression and emotional problems in general.

IS THERE ANYONE WILLING TO HELP ME WITH THIS?

IS THER ANYONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO ME THE “DOCTOR”?

ANYONE UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?

Answers:

I am an academic social psychologist and a Christian with training, exposure and specific interest in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of persons with psychological disorders/illnesses.

I am willing to help in any way I can. I believe in a holistic approach to good mental and general health and have successfully counselled several persons over the last approximately 10 years.

Although I empathize with your situation and request I do not believe that the internet forum is the best way to deal with troubling and potentially highly sensitive and confidential mental health issues. Please seek the professional advice that you say you need in an appropriate forum and not on the internet.

I commend you for the spirit in which you have acted and I must say any support group no matter how small or seemingly insignificant is helpful to many. You'd be surprised. Nevertheless, formal education and training is essential in dealing with this area of psychology and medicine as well as there are appropriate and formal procedures to secure the help that you need. The accuracy and reliability of information
on the net is sometimes spurious at best despite the goodwill that exists. Please confide your needs to a trusted family member, minister, guidance counsellor, nurse of other such person in seeking help for yourself first and others second.

Depending on the history, severity and prognosis of your condition if indeed you do possess a clinical psychological disorder/illness you will need to be treated by a psychiatrist, psychologist or qualified therapist over some time and possibly receive some drug therapy. Mental illness is a very serious disorder, please don't take it lightly.

Best of luck and regards,
Barry H
