I see a lot of people here on yahoo answers asking questions about relatives with serious mental illness, how they resent them and don't want to be around them. I also see a lot of postings from people just generally that they don't want to be around people with bipolar or schizophrenia.
So if nobody cares or wants to be with us, why should a person with serious bipolar or schizophrenia live?
(I can control MY symptoms well enuf that people want to be around me, but there are many who can't)

I'm personally doing ok, it's just that I see a lot of people posting here in mental health that they really dislike their relatives with mental illness, think they're acting up because they want to. I see people writing about their problems with their mentally ill spouse, and all the answerers tell them to divorce him/her. So it seems to me that people who have more trouble controlling their behavior suffer tremendously and have NOBODY and MOST think that's how it SHOULD be. It's kinda rotten if the only people you have to talk to are social workers who are paid to be nice?

well mental illness, is a thing that is well, very hard to deal with. but i'll tell you, theres no reason to get yourself down because people descriminate against those with mental illnesses.
look at it like this, i have a mental illness, its OCD, its not severe as bipolar or schitzophrenia, because supposedly i know waht i'm doing 100% of the time. but people descriminate agaisnt me slightly for that. and more than anything they descriminate aginast me because i'm overweight. peopel think that overweight individuals, cant run, cant jump, cant do any rigorous physical activity at all. its so not true.
listen, just as there are thin people who cant run a mile and obease people who can run 5, there are people who are "normal" and total assholes, and people with metnal illness who do the best they can. dont let the assholes bother you.
