I have social anxiety, can I get SSI?!
Question:
I have social anxiety, can I get SSI?
I graduated from high school in 05 and got accepted to go to Temple University the following fall, but I backed out because I felt I wasn't ready.
I had a job during school that lasted only 2 weeks and I had to quit because I just couldn't get used to it. I had a job in summer 06 for about 3 months but quit because I couldn't handle working and going to school (I had applied for a community college).
A week later I dropped out of community college because I just couldn't take the pressure. I had a job for a month last March at a post office until I couldn't stand being there anymore.
I have been seeing multiple counselors and psychiatrists and have been diagnosed at having social phobia and am currently taking a single course at the same community college, but feel like quitting that now as well. I am unemployed but have filled out some applications.
I've been trying so hard to overcome this but it always ends up feeling hopeless. Thanks for any advice.

To answer your question, NO, you can't draw social security for having social anxiety. However, you can go on welfare, I suppose. Same difference, it all comes out of the taxpayer's pocket to support people who can't or won't function in society.
