Is the effect a seizure has on the brain always negative? Can it be positive?!

Question:

Is the effect a seizure has on the brain always negative? Can it be positive?

Answers:

A seizure is never healthy for your brain, no more than a cigarette is ever healthy for your lungs. Your body can tolerate one of each without a lot of cells dying, but the cumulative effect is not good.

There can be a silver lining to having a seizure if that's how you are found to have a tumor or some other pathology that can be treated before it gets too far. There can also be the antidepressant effects of seizures administered during ECT, but those seizures are very carefully administered today, not at all as portrayed in movies, with meds to limit the seizure's effects on muscles and on the brain and with oxygen if the person is not completely healthy. Even in that case I wouldn't say seizures are good for the brain. It's more the lesser of two evils.
