If this is referring to propranolol and the recent research regarding how this can be used to help prevent PTSD, you should really see the 60 Minutes news clip regarding it which gives a much more balanced presentation of the actual effects of the drug-it certainly does not erase memory, but rather prevents the memory from being stored in the way that trauma memories are stored-with all the attendant physiological hyperarousal that interferes with normal functioning. The memory is not erased, just not "relived" and re-experienced everytime it is triggered. See the website:
