What is probably some of the saddest books you have read?

The saddest book I ever read was called A Fine Balance. It was about life in India. It would make me so depressed I would put it down and say "I'm never going to read it again!" but I always went back to it and finally finished it and the end was just as depressing as the beginning! Good book though. Very interesting.
