Are all bipolars schizophrenic? or is it a seperate illness?!

Question:

Are all bipolars schizophrenic? or is it a seperate illness?

do all bipolars have depression or can you just have the "up" mania? schizophrenia? kleptomania? are these common side ailments?

Answers:

the definition of bipolar is that you have to have both sides of it, but you may not experience both if its treated early. some treatments for bipolar only treat one side of it, so if it treats depression, they could still be manic, but someone who is bipolar without treatment will have both sides of it. everyone that has bipolar is different, and you can never tell how long they'll be depressed until theyre manic or the other way around, it could only be 3 hours until they change, 3 days, 3 years, which is why if diagnosed early they may never have both mania and depression. its not a timed thing at all, very random. but there are treatments that treat both sides of bipolar, like mine, so its suposed to keep the lows and ups less low and up, on a normal scale. my dad has bipolar with schizophrenic tendencies, and was not treated early at all. not everyone with bipolar also has schizophrenia, and not everyone with schizophrenia has bipolar, but it does happen sometimes. and things get misdiagnosed all the time too, so it could be more people with bipolar have schizophrenia then they know, they just havent thought to ask the person with bipolar if they have symptoms of schizophrenia, the early the treatment the less chance of things like that showing up though, and it has alot less impact on their life too.
when someone with bipolar is manic, there are soo many different symptoms that they could have, a big one is alot of energy, and very impulsive, and takes risks, some that may be very dangerous, or illegal... but going with the impulsive part, it could be very common for them to steal, because they arent thinking about it, it will just pop into their head to steal, or do whatever else, and they wont think of the consequences. so its not that they have kleptomania, which is an entirely different disorder all together, but just that they are very impulsive so could seem like a kleptomaniac because they are also manic.
adhd is common with bipolar. im bipolar and have adhd. and alot of times bipolar is misadiagnosed as adhd at first, or just depression, because thats all they see at first, they dont see both sides of the bipolar, and think, adhd for manic, depression for the depressed side. i was diagnosed with adhd and depression, then they found out it wasnt depression because those meds didnt work, but the bipolar ones do i bstill have adhd along with bipolar, but not depression, just sometimes a really low side of bipolar. also, if your interested in knowing, they think that bipolar may have something to do with seizures in your brain now, because my meds for was first prescribed just for epilepsy, and its just for seizures, but it helped both sides of bipolar. so its a very interesting topic.
