Adopted - Abused - Abandoned:Please give any advice(part one)?

I was adopted when I was 6 years of age. My american parents had some relationship problems before I was adopted. My paerents married when they were 18 and 20 years of age. When my American sisters were very young like 6 & 8 my father had an affair with a woman in my parents house with my sisters in the home. My mother apperently has not had sex with my father very much since the early 1970's. My mother got married so young because her father died when she was just a little girl.

My parents adopted me when I was 6 in the mid 80's.I remember my mother committing suicide a couple of times and parents kicking my sisters out when I was 8 or soyears of age.

I spent the next several years helping my mother cope with every day life, basically turning into her mother and she my child. I later learned as an adult that my mother has what is called borderline disorder.

back when i first came to the states i rememberlaying on top of my father crying hysterically.

My heart goes out to you. You have endured so much so young and have come through mentally strong and able, these experiences didn't turn you hard and bitter from the sound of your writing. You are remarkable and must be meant to do something for others that suffer similarly to you. Your issues sound too serious to be answered here and I wonder if you have tried asking your doctor to refer you to a counsellor? Maybe adoption authorities have counselling in place if you ask them? Find ways to help yourself and others - helping others is also very good therapy for you too. I wish I could tell you more...
