I write really eloquent essays, but When I talk to people, verbally, I sound so !

I write really eloquent essays, but When I talk to people, verbally, I sound so dull?

I'm not boasting or anything, just being honest. I have never received anything lower than an A in english and I took AP english. Now I've graduated from high school and when I have talks with people or on the phone I find it difficult to express my self verbally. How come I can write such good essays but can't express myself verbally to the same degree?

I must admit that I was (and still am to some degree) the same way. I think it comes with practice. Join a club with like-minded people and socialize. Start conversations with random people anywhere. Find out peoples names that you see everyday and never talk to. Anything to just get out there and do it.

Heck and probably the best advice...Limit your time on the computer. I know for a fact that the computer will actually send your social skills in reverse.
