If I have Adult ADHD can my kids have ADHD or ADD?!

Question:

If I have Adult ADHD can my kids have ADHD or ADD?

Answers:

Not neccessarily. There are connections between parents who have and kids who have. But there are more incidents of Parents who have and kids that don't.
Researchers are theorizing that ADD is related to the deficiency of Omega 3 during pregnancy. If you have ADD/ADHD try taking a Omega 3 supplement three times a day. I was also diagnosed as well as my first son and I began taking the supplement and am fine now. The pills are too big for my son to take just yet, lol so he isn't taking them right now. Many doctors are supporting this theory. I had heard it and then read up on it on the internet and when we saw my sons doctor I asked her about it. She too had researched it and said she 100% supported that theory.
It would stand to reason that if the mother had an omega 3 deficiency during pregnancy, that could contribute to both she and the baby having ADD. Most children emulate their parents eating habits, therefore it would appear that if the parents have ADD then the children may also.
There are no hard facts to support the genetic link though. Even in my family.. no one but my son, me and one nephew have it... period. But... the omega 3 theory definatly applies as the three of us despise fish and don't eat ANY omega 3.
Or if the mother didn't take in a lot of omega 3 during pregnancy because she doesn't like fish (for example) yet feeds her child a sufficient amount as it grows..then the child would not have ADD, yet she might.
Of coarse this is not saying if you don't eat fish you have ADD. This is a only a theory of why and what ADD is. Some people's bodies can function without certain things. Their feeding their body something that makes up for it. But if you view it from the point of ' this person has ADD' and link that to Omega 3... It is amazing.
If you are planning to get pregnant just start taking the supplement and you should be fine.
I hope this helped!!!
