How does one acquire Methadone in WA State (Legally)?

I have a friend who's trying to deal with Opiate addiction and is in need of Methadone. He doesn't have health Insurance and is also looking for information on post-acute withdrawals. Is there anyone who has experience with this who can shed some light? Money is an issue in this situation as it is scarce at this time.
