Sick and off work for 2 weeks, but earn under the amount needed to claim statuto!

Question:

Sick and off work for 2 weeks, but earn under the amount needed to claim statutory sick pay..?

Doc signed me off work with anxiety and depression for 2 weeks while we wait for shrink appt, and to wait for medication to kick in, and I earn under the amount needed for Statutory Sick Pay, by £2. I go off work though and have nothing to live on, but I get in a horrible state (tears, panics, snapping) in the shop with 5 customers all trying to talk to me at once, and the new assistant manager always finding fault with me (I worked there for 2 years with no problems of doing everything before from the previous management) what on earth can I do? Please help me.

If I leave the job, like just walk out coz I cant cope, I wont get any benefits anyway, since it would be deemed i had left "voluntarily".

Answers:

Hi, you should try be on Incapacity benefit. Even if you walk out the job it should be seen that you under a great deal of stress.

The last thing you need is more stress, Benefits agency should refer you to their own doctor who can check with your doctor and get this sorted out. Hopefully sooner rather than later. STAY STRONG. Been through similar (and still go through it) with anxiety and depression.

Whenever you do feel better try and get job with less hassle, I hope you get this sorted!
