Has anyone heard of a Gateway worker ? in mental health ?
Answers:
Not as such, but I think I know what it means. There are a couple of trails going on in the primary mental health care sector in the UK. They involve something called "stepped care" - which is, essentially, a method to allow patients to move up and down the care spectrum more easily. I heard yesterday of the role of "Navigator" - some one attached to the GP surgery who "manages" the interventions across the spectrum of mental health care. I think the "Gateway" worker may be the same thing.
