Answers:

i dont have agoraphobia, but i can understand why some people do
everyone has fears, some are caused by something that happened when they were young, and some just seem to be for no reason, but if you looked into a fear someone had, most likely it would be something in their past that made them have that fear.
someone with agoraphobia thinks about a big open space as a target of possible bad things, they could feel that all of a sudden a plane could crash on them, something could attack them, too much could be going on all around them, and could scare them. some feel unprotected because theres nothing closed in around them closely to protect them from the big things, or that too many bad things can happen in a big space, but not as many could happen in a small space because there wouldnt be enough room. they can also feel safe in small place, because less can happen in them, and they would feel less overwhelmed, they can see all around and make sure that things are safe, they could feel protected, like a child may hide in a closet when scared of the monster under the bed, but would never go out in an open space because it could attack. something could of happened in their past that was a horrible experience and happened in a wide open space, and they feel like it could happen again if they go in a wide open space. same thing with people who are afraid of small spaces because something bad happened in a small space.
traumatic experiences in childhood can affect people when they're older alot. like if the color of the room they were in was orange, and something bad happened to them in the orange room, or they witnessed a horrible thing, like a murder, or some type of abuse happened, even though the color orange had nothing to do with the bad thing that happened, just because they remember it, they could fear it. the mind works like that.
