Do you think it is healthy for people to cry?!

Question:

Do you think it is healthy for people to cry?

Answers:

Sure, but I'd say it's like any other natural human emotional response: some is ok, and to be expected, but if it happens all the time, either for no reason or way over the top, you might want to gently ask some questions.

Too much crying can pretty much be a sign of any serious disturbance, but if you are talking with a person who either has depression or any signs of complicated grief (grieving as in mourning the loss of a family member, only complicated by other problems such as anxiety or depression), you really need to approach the person and situation humbly, *Gently* and respectfully. Suggesting the person might want to talk to someone, and then humbly and briefly mentioning that professional help might be an option if things get too bad, is likely one good way to go...at least this way, you get the other person to talk with *someone* versus just crying all the time.

But yeah, crying is a normal and healthy response, so you should have some tolerance for it really. Try not to complain about it until or unless the person *doing* the crying notices it's a problem too. We aren't doctors here and aren't really trained to *spot* the distinction between normal variations and actual illnesses, you know?

I hope this helps....thanks for your time!
