Bi-Polar or ADD?!

Question:

Bi-Polar or ADD?

About 6 months ago my 8 y/o was diagnosed with ADD & was put on meds. She immediately became extremely emotional, so her Dr. switched her meds around. Which didn't make anything better. I could definately see a difference in her attention spans, but she was still very moody & emotional. So, I took her to another Dr., this time a Pschologist. He told me that Bi-Polar is sometimes misdiagnosed as ADD, & would like to test her for BP. I picked up some books about it at the library & have done some research online. My question is....If a child is Bi-Polar, do they experience ALL of the symtopms or just some. She's definately not hearing voices or having haluasanation

I know for several years that she has had some problems with Anxiety. She "worries" so much about what is going to happen next that she usually develops stomach cramps, & sometimes goes as far as actually throwing up. She will sit there & ask question after question until she just gets really obsessed & upset about it.

She is home schooled, so I know this all has nothing to do with bully's at school or what not. She gets tons of interaction with other children her age through Girl Scouts, Church, YMCA, & playgroups.

Her father is in the Navy. About 6 months ago his sub started going out to sea A LOT in preparation for a 6 month cruise coming up. I haven't talked to my kids about the cruise so I know it's not about that. But I have noticed that since her father's been gone more, things have been a little rougher.....but it's been that way for all of us.
