What goes through your mind just before you go to sleep at night?!
Question:
What goes through your mind just before you go to sleep at night?
Does this happen to others? When I lay down to sleep at night I get all kinds of random pictures going through my head. Some totally weird like sailing ships upside down. Totally normal fields of flowers then a second later a picture of rocks like druid stones. It's just vision after vision of seemingly unrelated things. When I try to focus on any one thing they usually slip away. If I am very tired the visions come rapid fire like a moving collage. Last night I went from stones skipping on a brook to a tidal wave coming at me to a person dressed in a black robe to giant flowers with faces in them to large face masks to children smiling as they cascaded by me walking, flying, doing somersaults, etc. I was tired last night and so many things came at me I can't begin to remember them all. Rarely, I'm not sure why, my mind is a total black void. I see nothing and it's unnerving. My husband says he rehashes the day/plans the next but he never had the "traffic" I seem to have.

Interesting thoughts-thanks everyone. A few comments. I do read quite a bit. Sometimes before I go to bed. I know at times my visions have elements of what I've read but I can pick those visions out of the rest-they are always a little out of sync with what I'm seeing - even though it's all random. This doesn't happen just when I'm tired it's all the time - it's when it doesn't happen that it unsettles me. It's a very important part of me - just not sure why. I am totally awake in when this starts then the visions get further and further away and I fall asleep. The visions may get weird but never scary. I've been doing this as long as I can remember. I thought everyone did until a few years ago. I've always dreamed in vivid color - again something I had thought everyone did. None of my siblings pre-sleep is any place close to mine so not sure if it's an inherited thing. Sometimes it bothers me when I see something that feels important but can't keep it in focus.

I take a long time to get to sleep and genrally think about lots of things, but i think what you have is probably pretty normal well maybe not normal but i just a part of who you are, and it is probably just a part of the time just befor eyou begin dreaming so you are half doing both, i used to see raspberries before i went to sleep r plenty of stragne things.
