Does anyone have any experience with Schizophrenics Anonymous?

I gotta admit, SA threw me for a second. Afterall, how could someone suffering from Schizophrenia/Schizoid Process hope to deal with it by goiing through a 12step, but then it dawned on me: all mental illness should be treated both medically and emotionally. People who suffer from Schizoid conditions certainly deserve at least as much support as we have come to expect for alcoholics, heroin addicts etc.
I don't believe that anyone is talking of ignoring the pharmaceutical aspect of treatment, but certainly SA has a place in developing meaningful coping mechanisms and camaraderie.
